VPS Help

Hi,

I wonder if someone could help me please?

I’m trying to set up a VPS account through my reseller account (have created the plan etc), but I think I might have gone wrong somewhere. I’ve signed up for the plan I created, but wasn’t sure what to put in the host name field, so I put in a domain name that I own. However, once signed up and my VPS account has been initialised, it says the following under ‘VPS DNS Zone’;

“The DNS zone ***.co.uk was not created during signup as per your request. You can add the DNS zone here by clicking the add icon.”

When I click the add icon, I get the following error;

“Zone ***.co.uk has been taken.”

Is this because I have already used this domain against one of my Windows accounts?

If so, how would I sort this problem out, and what will I need to put as the host name? If not, how do I connect to my VPS? (I’m new to VPS, and thought I’d have a go).

Cheers!

Oli

Yes, There could be only one entry for a domain in Hsphere Database, it wouldn’t allow duplication.

You have to SSH the IP of your VPS and login with username as “root” and password.

Ok thanks. How would I remove that entry and add another domain name?

Also, regarding the SSH, what program would you recommend?

Open a ticket to clear entry for that domain.

You can use PuTTY to SSH. Download it from here PuTTY Download

Thanks. I’ve opened a ticket to clear the domain.

I’ll have to look into PuTTY tonight.

Thanks again!

The DNS entry cannot be removed, so please create the VPS again.
