This is just a warning, for many many years registrars have allowed creation of nameservers that do not have a corresponding A record or NS record in the serving DNS server. I must let you know, directI (and domains we sell) now REQUIRE this to be the case.
What does this mean?
This means if you have domain5555.com on directI
and make child nameserver dns1.domain5555.com and dns2.domain5555.com
now you must ensure that in plesk (or hsphere) DNS settings
you have an entry for dns1 (.domain5555.com) IN A firstIP and you MUST have
dns2 (.domain555.com) IN A 2ndIP
These can be done in Plesk by manual record creation, and in Hsphere by going to ‘Cusotm A record’
without this your will have random failing of domains resolving, this has started a lot in the last 48 hours now. similar issues with two registrars, and one of the registrars is not tied to directI, and the user has the proper NS and A records, so I was thinking it is the same issue, but in the end they are different. The directI issue however, is one that can be resolved with the above steps!
