Re: Web 3 Down Earlier!

Yea, I think that was the outage I was referring to. I checkd another Stats site I use and it was around that time. Do we know what happen?

NO biggy, just letting you know…

Re: Web 3 Down Earlier!

It was most likely a spike in load that caused PHP to stop responding. The issue hasn’t repeated since..

These occasional things happen on shared hosting platforms :frowning:

It has happen again, whats up…

Web 3 has gone down agian, something is going on, this is happening everyday now. I can’t afford my uptime stats to drop… Even for 3-4 minutes a night, my stats will drop when happening everynight…

The server slowed down for about 120 seconds due to a spike in CPU usage..

These things don’t happen every day, but you can certainly expect them on a shared environment. We have a 99.9% uptime guarantee, that means customers can expect around 45 minutes of downtime each month. Usually its much less at around 20 to 25 minutes..

We are of course monitoring Web3.. The CPU spike lasted for hardly enough time to allow us to diagnose the issue. However we continue to monitor

I have never seen this happen everynight like it has last 3-4 days, and i have never seen a long time of downtime since I have been with you guys since August, of any 45min or even 20-25min downtime per month. (Not counting the upgrades or attacks).

2-4 min a night if this keeps up will hurt uptimes stats on our sites. I think the times that should be expected of over 20-45min each month of downtime is excessive to me. Of course things happen on a shared enviroment but these times if ever happen is to excessive of 20-45min.

This sever has always been up with excellent uptimes, during the past months with no issues except within the last week.

Does someone want to explain agian, what is going on, this happen tonight again. If this keeps up, I want my stuff off this server. My hosting site is on this server and if my stats keep going down, I will not be a happy camper.. X(

I am taking this back to live chat, no one wants to respond to it, and taking it serioulsy, I have had great service with you guys, but why is this not being looked into, things like this will cause me to leave. I dont parnter with companies this way, I have seen all admins on this forum the last 2 days with no responds to my last 3 posts.

Last night when I go to live chat, they insist nothing was wrong then they looked more into this issue when i insists, and then they saw the outage from your logs. So i figured I will post in forum so all the admins can see it and maybe look into this issue.

Why was this thread move also???

James, I will monitor your site at night and check what is causing your issue (i suspect some nightly maintenance crons). Btw can you tell me the timeout value of your monitoring service.

This section is specifically dedicated to issues relates to Linux servers and thus an appropriate place for your post.

Hi Tanmaya,

Thank You for the reply!

Please understand, my issue here. You guys know me and I don’t complain much, and rave about you guys to everyone, but when stuff like this happens and I get no respond, yes I get upset. Everyone from Jodo Host has been in the forum and no one answer this thread, with my last 3 posts. Next time I will open a ticket and contact you, as you are their when I need you and always been a great help to me.

This current issue will effect my uptime stats if continues. These reports are from host-tracker are legigite as these brief downtimes are showing in your uptime logs as well. This has never happen prior to this last week.

I use this company for the reports. Not sure their timeout times. http://host-tracker.com .

Thanks Again

This also just happen within the last 5 minutes as all sites on web3 was down.

I am now taking this to live chat and sending Tanmaya a ticket, this has happen twice today. This time is excessive amout of time.

WHAT ARE WE DOING ABOUT THIS SITUATION???

Hello James,
We have taken this issue on high priority. We suspect there are some user’s scripts (also could be in cron jobs) which some time cause server to respond slow. Since it is shared server, it is not an easy task to catch such scripts. We are having a close eye on such scritps and will continue this untill we are sure about them.
We have stopped 2 such scripts of a new user by now and have seen resource usage going down.

I have spoken to Prakash about 2 hours ago through live chat, he is giving this new info to Tanmaya when he comes in. Tanmaya is also aware of this. Thanks

Yes, I’m aware of your chat with Prakash and wroking on this since then.

Ok guys thanks…
