Web13 - Down Again

Web 13 has been down at least four times in the last 48 hours. My clients are understandably not happy.

It has been reliable since its July 08 launch. However in January, that changed.

One explanation I’ve read said that high I/O caused file system corruption.

Whatever the reason, why is Web13 failing over and over? My guess is that the server is overloaded and oversold. Jodohost needs to finally address this issue, since it isn’t the first time this has happened: Web 12 had the same problems about six months ago.

the issue is happening due to high IO, we are working on getting it all resolved but have some complications due to getting some hardware fix and returned. (not on the server itself mind you)

Can you give us an estimated time when this will be resolved?

Since I wrote the message, the server has been down 3 more times that I’ve noticed. That is unacceptable.

I have a new client who has moved their hosting to me as their previous one was proving unreliable. Unfortunately they have ended up on web13 and they find their site down at least as often as their previous host. This leaves me in an extremely embarrassing position. Please find a solution urgently.

Nzkiwi,
While web13 has stayed up for past 4 days, you can re-create their account that will put them on a different webserver.

That’s something I would do only as an absolute last resort. If web13 continues as it has over the last few days, my reputation won’t have been dented too much.
