Greetings everyone,

I know I posted a similar topic a couple of years ago, but didn’t really get anywhere with it. We are having continued issues with sites getting hacked over and over, but we don’t notice until the customer notices and talks to us about it. When we write in for support, the standard answer is always “change your password”.. Which of course is never useful as they aren’t getting in via our FTP logins, they are hacking in via other sites on the server, and JH support can never track it down.

So what we’re looking for, is anyone using a website content monitoring solution that essentially goes through all pages of a site, keeps a history, and if any content changes it notifies via email? I have found a few online that seem to do that, but the pricing is less than desirable. I’m just interested in the monitoring part, not defending from DDOS, automatic fixing, etc etc that seem to be bundled in the services I’ve found that are higher priced (anywhere from $5-50/mo per site, which would pretty much eat up any small profit margin we have with these sites)..

IT’s an addon service by a 3rd party as of now.

We have an md5 summer/notify in process of being made for a future panel, it won’t be available on Hsphere side however, and first for linux only. It will notify of a list of files changed/removed/added via email an you can easily watch and know when for example an auto update on wordpress happens, if you have it enabled. I’ve actually seen rumors of some major exploits happening via that auto update engine here recently by one of their ex developers saying that is a major hole in the product as well.

We have a large mix of windows and linux hosted sites. Any other ideas of what I can do now to help protect my customers?
