Website performance SUCKING since Tuesday

I’m tired of getting the run around from the support folks.

Something happened Tuesday evening that caused website performance issues on ALL of my domains.

In my support ticket/email responses I’ve explained in great detail (till I’m blue in the face) the problems I seeing, and I’m getting pretty disgusted with how it’s being handled.

I realize that Jodohost is operating on limited staffing because of the holidays, but this has been going on for 48+ hours now, and I need some answers or results, or it’s time to move on. This is the exact same crap that caused me to leave my last hosting provider (not problems, but the lack of effort at resolving them). I haven’t had ANY problems with Jodo since I came here, UNTIL THIS PAST TUESDAY. Jodo has delivered with a spotless record, but this time it’s gone beyond what I’m willing to endure from a hosting provider.

I am opening your sites in less than 3.5 seconds on my first visit from some slow rural DSL on the first visit to them in quite a long time.

there could be some routing issue, if you can download WinMTR and run it for about 5-10 minutes it will aid us greatly in seeing if any network issue is at fault. If there was/is any packetloss in the return trip to you it could cause a seeming slowness when one doesn’t exist for others

Yep, they seem to be loading quickly again, but note this is after my last response to a support ticket.

Coincidence? Probably not. Someone probably found the cause and corrected it.

ALL of the problems I was having have been resolved. I pointed out that the last time I saw these exact same problems, the reported resolution was removing some erroneus conflicting DNS entries that had somehow found their way into your DNS servers.

Now, everything seems to be working properly. I could connect with Frontpage from home, but not from my office. Now all of a sudden I can connect from my office network.

Again I ask, coincidence? And again I say…probably not.

Your support team needs to quit with the “works for me” BS responses and start taking their customer complaints/issues a little more seriously. I won’t tolerate that crap ever again after the year of hell I endured with my last hosting provider.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad it seems to be resolved. I just didn’t appreciate the lackluster response I received from the support team this time.

frontpage can be downright tempramental sometimes even in the best of times

I will note this and if you can get me a ticket # I will speak to staff handling.

Two tickets for different things, that probably ended up being related.

JH #APW-26121-783
JH #PQT-89183-517

I’ve never had problems with FrontPage, except with Jodohost. Normally I’d use something else (.NET Studio), but for quick hit-n-run .classic ASP edits…FP is still the easiest solution.

ok, for some reason I could not remember your mail address, I will check those tickets.

Frontpage is notorious for problems with shared borders, webbots, etc  you are fortunate to not use them if you haven’t had any problems.

Seems to have crapped itself again.

The last response I gave to ticket JH #APW-26121-783 explains how to reproduce the problem.

Not having FP issues anymore, but web to SQL performance is in the bit bucket again, even on the lightweight pages I reference in that ticket.

What’s going on here?

Oh, and I see you moved my post from the general forums. Why so?

Explained in PM, but all resolved with MSSQL1 abuse fixed.

Yep, confirmed. All is well again.

Thanks for stepping in and figuring it out Stephen. I was shocked to see yet another “it works for me” email response to my ticket in my inbox this morning.

Hello,
see that “http://www.furyandfire.net/WAP/WAP_forum_posts.asp?TID=751
its seem working fine.

sudhanshu

Of course it’s working fine, but only after I called in the big guns (you). Seriously, Jodo’s support staff needs training or something.
