I just lost a sell after a visitor spent over 10min. on my site and talking with me, he ask me if the control panels were normally this slow. Will he left and im sure I lost the sale.
I suggest you guys upgarde this control panel, I am really getting sick and tired of this. I really wish I could move all my accounts somewhere else, but you know its almost impossible with clients email accounts and the number of accounts I have.
But I can tell you this, the time you guys spend every 2-3 weeks with this maintaince does NOTHING. When I look bad to a visitor this relationship will not work, you guys have put off this upgrade HOW LONG???
I have been looking for another provider for new clients which means I have to start over from scratch with a new name etc. It’s really sad because you guys can’t do a upgrade. Its hard enough building a hosting company, then start losing sales. I don’t think so. X(
I SUGGEST YOU GET THIS UPGRADE DONE TO TRY TO CORRECT THIS SITUATION & QUIT SPENDING TIME ON MAINTAINCE TRYING TO FIX IT!
Can you tell me what portion of control panel this visitor was looking at.
At this hour, i don’t see anything slow.
Also just to correct, we mostly do routine maintenance for overall health of control panel. The one being performed today is not a routine maintenance, but to avoid slowness problem occurs during US day hours at times.
Please note that slowness, when exists, is not always same for all. So, there is no reason to club them all as one issue.
For example, it may be specific to accounts on a particular webserver alone because Hsphere runs as a low priority service on webservers. That is, it will be the last one to be served after other processes. Or when Hsphere stats calculation is in process where its gets busy processing logs and slows response back to control panel server.
He was on my demo, and so was I. The domain area,web options web etc., just hung the page.
Tanmaya when do you expect this upgrade take place. This may not fix the issues, but it may.
I can move around through menues in seconds, in your demo account.
Me to, now, but it wasn’t working before I can tell you that, I was in the control panel the sametime he was and the same pages were hanging.
I can’t be sure that it may have caused slowness, but i was backing up CP database around this time. That may probably be the cause of slowness you noticed.
Ok, just my bad luck during the time I almost had a sale.
Sorry for that. It was to be done anyhow before the maintenance begins.
It might be best to explain to clients how the CP system works, and be up front that it will be slow at times, depending on other processes going on at the time. People can be very understanding once they know the story beforehand.
Case in point - once we know the full story about an issue with Jodo, understanding overcomes annoyance. Our clients are often no different. Their expectations are often too high, ironically due to hype about what the internet can do, when the internet itself is often full of faults and delays. Managing their expectations will reap benefits in the long term.
Anyway, they’ll always find that going with a company full of hype will always disappoint. They’ll think back and appreciate that you were straight with them. Hopefully. 
Of course I explain to them, but for a new visitors they won’t be back, they expect its always like that, to much competition to take a chance, most people are already coming from a bad experiance and not going to risk it again, especialy from a small hosting company and not well knowed.

Just explain that some extensive backups were being performed for schedule maintenance period today.
I tried all that as stated in my above post. I also told him to come back in a hour or so, and test it again. We will see.
Hopefully I will be done much early and when he comes back, he should find it all good.
My luck he will come back during maintaince sceduled. 8) Don’t worry about it Tanmaya, thanks for your help.
Just curious - why does a visitor (not a client) need to use the CP?
