Which Mail Server to Use?

Which mail server to used for new email accts ?

mail
mail2
mail3
or mail4 ???

Would like to place quick link on my site.

Customers will alwyas use mail.THEIRDOMAIN.com on the service domain, it will be mail4.servicedomain.com, as a server named “mail” already exists.

To clarify:

  1. If my site is called: host.com

  2. I resell to my customers an email acct or hosting acct with or without control panel access…

will the mail server always be:

http//mail.host.com for all my users ?

actually for mail there is no http://, but otherwise, yes :slight_smile:

If your domain is yourdomain.com and you sell a domain (with or without a control panel) to your client that is, say, theirdomain.com, then you can tell your clients to use either mail.yourdomain.com or mail.theirdomain.com. I always tell my clients to use mail.theirdomain.com.
