Why is Mysql 1 Keep going down.

Mysql 1 (204.14.106.14) keep going down?? Reason I know this is parts of my live chat keeps going down that uses the database upon refresh. It has happen about 3 times already today.

Please advise. Thanks

These forums run against same server. Just create a ticket as soon as you notice this and we will look into it right away.

Maybe its the script I’m using I’ll check it out. Upon auto-refreshed, it reloads with a MsSql error sometimes.

Though it shouldnt matter much, you may try using IP instead of hostname for MySQL server.

Webd, MSSQL or MySQL? Maybe one was a typo, don’t know of mssql1 being down though

yea, its MySQL 1. It was a typo, from lack of sleep… 8)

This is happening again, my live chat keeps going down on MySql1. Is MySql1 been going down?

I just checked mysql1 for the last 48 hours only one time did it fail in 1 minute checks. That was yesterday at about 4am it was only one check, the next check was fine.

I would check to see if your app it trying to use a p_connect which is a persistant connection, it can cause a huge number of zombie connections and we have them disabled(or rather a p_connect works just like a standard connection), but if your livechat is expecting a persistant connection it may throw an error.

A persistant connection basically means it keeps a connection open even if it is not being used, this keeps processes running on the mysql server that cause slowdowns and ram buildups and we and most other providers can not allow them due to the issues they cause.

I don’t think thats it because it uses refreshed so it don’t stay connected all the time, it usually runs no problems for hours our days. What it does is refreshes on a certain part of it, to look for new visitors, thats how I know sometimes its down when it refreshes. Just this last week it has been going down. It just happen here in the last hour again.

Maybe its web7 that keeps going down not Mysql1. I just know it keeps going down.

Php?

Yes, PHP… Shoot just happen again… grrrrrrr It makes it hard becasue i have to keep checking it to make sure its on, or if I walk away I never know if its on…

If it just happened, I know for a fact there is no php issue on web7 I was just testing on it since my last post, and mysql 1 shows no errors, but I was not directly checking it.

Wierd, becasue like I said it usually has no problems for days but the last 2.. Could it be web7?

Will have a unix tech check, not my area of expertise

Ok No problem. Maybe Tanmaya can find the error…

Can you tell me the domain name where you see this issue and how can we monitor it? You can just update your ticket.

I don’t think I open a ticket but I will. I will probably just move the domain to win18 myself for now, web7 has been bad luck with me as you know with the FTP issues. It just a sub-domain for my live chat wont be nothing for me to move.

Sites been fine since this morning hasn’t gone down.
