Data actually started moving to the new server some time ago as we turned off FTP services on the server.
I will update this thread as new milestones come along.
Data transfer and permissions settings are moving along well.
File transfer is moving right along, very glad to be getting out of Superb, their network is crawling slow here recently.
Still moving slow and steady.
Now down to the last 25 folders.
Down to the last 10, but one of these is the biggest one on the server.
These 800kb/s transfers we are getting is a good example for why we needed to move the server, still on those last 10 now.
The biggest folder on the server is done transferring, 6 more to go.
So until all of win2 is complete, ftp will be down?
Yes, unless you want to leave some data behind on the old win2 this is the best way to do it.
200MB of trasfer left. I will let everyone know login info for FTP when hsphere makes it available.
File transfer and permissions complete, now entering a new phase in the migration, hsphere settings.
We are doing a final sync on the files, and DNS will be updated shortly, people needing FTP can use the IP: 204.10.107.232 and their username and password to connect and upload.
Since DNS has not changed, the results after upload will not be “live” in your browser.
OK, bad news. The IP migration script kept failing and we had PSOFT support on it. Apparently, we were dealing with low-level support today and they asked us to wait for Monday so they can fix it.
This of course has us very frustrated. What we have done now is turned on FTP services on Win2 so customers can continue to use the old server. As soon as PSOFT is able to fix the IP migrator, we’ll resume the migration with a re-update of files from the old to new server while its running.
We should have this wrapped up within another 24 hours. No downtime can be expected
We are resuming this process now.
Win2 FTP is being disabled again.
All tasks to do with the migration were completed successfully
