Win5 - High load

I see there is a bulletin about this, posted an hour or two ago. My site is intermittently slow, sometimes 15 to 30 seconds to load a page.

I was told earlier by live support it was my site that was using high CPU and RAM, but I have made no changes to the site recently, other than uploading some files for download. I have WWG running, which is 99% of the traffic on the site. I can’t see how all of a sudden my site is creating an unusually high load.

Is my site on Win5 one of the two identified in the bulletin? www.voices-for-change.com

Is there a resolution pending?

It is not the software, it is the influx of visitors causing the load.

There are a number of dynamic sites that are getting huge amounts of traffic today, and for the last week, but today has been particularly high.

OK, thanks. My site is not particularly high today compared to any other time in the last 6 weeks. Site seems to be back to normal speed once again.

What can be done to minimize the slowness? Are there too many busy sites hosted on Win5 to handle the capacity?

Not really too many, just 4-5 busy sites, some of them busier than others, but all of them very busy by most websites standards.

Being that this is a shared hosting environment… when there are a few sites that cause speed issues for other sites does Jodo consider moving the sites causing the slowness to newer servers or servers with less load?

Just curious how you handle situtations like this if they persist.

Thanks

If they are continual, we help them move to solutions with dedicated servers or semi-dedicated, as they can’t continue to hurt everyone.

This is what we were looking at on Win5 today, a traffic increase of 30mb/s that lasted from 10am, to 2pm. :frowning: That was just on one server.
