Windows 2008, SQL Server 2008?

Is there any update / news for Windows 2008 / IIS7 & SQL Server 2008 availability at Jodo?

?(

 keep a watch.

I will add here, shared/reseller is still a little longer away, but some news is coming soon!

Is It YES, NO or Maybe ?!

it is good news  Exciting things are happening across the board, Hsphere is about to add official 2008 support for instance…

Customer announcement of new services coming next week

I was getting two, and occasionally three and four notifications on every JH forum I subscribed to. I tried unsubscribing and then subscribing but it made no difference until I unsubscribed from all those I subscribed to, waited over 24 hours and then subscribed once again. No problems since. YMMV

This is not forgotten, working on a more complete announcement, we will be having new Virtual Dedicated Server offerings, shared/reseller hosting options (in Hsphere most likely with details coming soon, we are awaiting a little more maturity and few bug fixes), and more.

It will come in phases, the first will be the Virtual Dedicated, which is a dramatic change of the VPS offerings we do now, as it will be moving to hardware virtualization.
these will be rolled out in the first full week of October (3rd to 9th).

The rest will follow from there, with more details coming in the upcoming days/weeks.

wich are the differences between new Virtual Dedicated servers and the old VPS?

Virtual dedicated will be run on hardware virutalization platform allowing things like Anti Virus (realtime), core allocation (meaning not cpu share, you get X cpu cores 100% to yourself), VPN support beyond MS VPN client that is on virtuozzo(openVPN, Cisco, other minor brands), there are several other benefits as well but those would be the key features.

Hsphere side is seeing a lot of issues with mail services on unix side, something that clients rely on as much or moreso than their sites, so with issues there we will wait for them to be ironed out before proceeding.

Not forgotten here, still working on ensuring everything is ready for rollout

I had to leave early last night as I had a huge bout of heart burn that was scary it was so intensive. I have some meds with me now and will be getting back to this, but probably looking at a couple days delay until this is fully ready (virtual Dedicated).

We have everything that we need here, we are ready to deploy, but we are working to make a new firewall system that allows us to block abuse at the ends before it gets to the servers.

We’ve done extensive testing on them to this point, and encountered a couple issues we are working to fix before we can do live.

We’ve worked many hours on this so far, and it will be well worth it for us to continue, in the end the firewall setup will allow for a lot of safeguards to servers, prvent brute force attacks in due time, and a number of other great benefits.

We are just working on finalizing the plans now

Hsphere side is not looking so bright for a near term update, it is being quite stubborn for many users with pretty major issues.

We also have very large clusters which haven’t yet been done by others, and we always encountered bugs others did not due to sheer size.

We have quietly launched Windows 2008 on virtuozzo, the hardware VM offerings still in the pipeline, but VZ is going now, and we are offering moves to existing clients on 2003.

Email [email protected] if you want details.

there are significant resources upgrades on the Virtuozzo plans compared to before. Our past servers could not handle this level of HD and RAM allocations, so it requires a migration, in addition we will allow you to run both side by side for 1.5 weeks for a limited time, so you can transfer all files and settings without worry.
