ASP.Net and Classic ASP Components

Do any of you use the classic ASP components with ASP.Net 1.1? I'm writing a site that will need on-the-fly image resizing and the ability for the user to upload files/images.

Any suggestions on what (if any) components to use? Are there any good (preferably free) 100% .Net components for these tasks?

Why not just use system.drawing.image in .net?

When using this, or any image resizing tool, PLEASE try to keep server load to a minimum by not unnecessarily resizing the same images over and over again - save resized images to disk and reuse them from there.

See the Code Dump forum thread http://support.jodohost.com/showthread.php?t=5516 which has asp.net code for uploading / resizing. Take heed of Antics advice though.

Thanks Guys.

Don't worry - I'll definitely be caching the images on disk, where needed. TBH it's a once only operation, and all images will be resize before saving on the server.

Here's a free photo gallery for ASP.NET including C# source. It seems to have some cool features so you might get some good ideas from it.

Probably a tad off topic - but - Coppermine Photo Gallery (http://coppermine.sf.net/) is really good. Available here on JoDo too (under the free stuff bit on Linux) - free!!
