Looking for some suggestions/advice on a requirements for hosting a custom developed asp.net 2.0 application for a client. Looking to most likely go dedicated or VPS as do not want to risk a critical transactional buinsess app to shared hosting:
- Windows IIS Asp.Net 2.0 Framework based custom online booking application (hotels, and related).
- SQL Server backend database. (could possibly be a shared server).
- Approx 7000-12000 booking transactions per month.
- Need good reliability and uptime.
Would a VPS be sufficient or would a dedicated server be better suited? What server specs in terms of ram, processor do you suggest this would be well suited to?
