Can't create email alias using "." (periods) anymore?

Prior to the HSphere update I could create aliases with a dot in them

eg: [email protected]

Now HSphere is telling me

"Local name : Mail alias name should be alphanumeric value without dot, at least 2 characters"

I still have quite a few aliases set up using the period/dot in the construct of the name, but now all of a sudden I can't do that anymore?

Is this an oversite on the administration side or something, or am I really going to be restricted from using the period in my email addresses/aliases going forward?

Hrm first I have heard of this one, it certainly isn't something we have setup to restrict.

This is some limitation with particular version of vpopmail used by Hsphere, as per what Parallels developers have posted on Psoft forums. Will ask them if and when they plan to fix it.

That would be great. It was nice to have the ability to create email addresses using the dot versus being limited to using the dash to separate names/words.

Thanks for checking into it.

Any word back on a fix for this? I'm still unable to create new email addresses using a period in the construct of the name.

They haven't fixed it yet, or say when will it be fixed.
If a few, create a ticket and we will take care of it manually.
