I assume to support SSL on my VPS I have to purchase a certificate and can't use the one Plesk uses.

I see Jodo resells certificates. What does the 'Low Assurance' mean for the 'Positive SSL'?

Should I not buy that one?

I'm using SSL to host a Facebook app which requires it.
 
A low assurance certificate is a certificate that only includes your domain name in the certificate, Not for your business or organization name . Certificate authorities usually can automatically verify that you own the domain name by checking the whois record. After it, They can be issued instantly and are cheaper but, as the name implies, they provide less assurance to your clients.Low Assurance SSL Certificates with no entity authentication not deliver confidentiality or integrity. Why is this? Because confidentiality and integrity are the result of being able to encrypt and encryption requires authentication.
