Change Domain Name on Account?

How do I change the domain name that is associated with my account and not lose any of the files or database data that is already there? Do I simply log into my control panel, click on domains, and then delete the domain and add a new one? I just want to make sure none of the data is deleted as alot of work went into it. Thanks.

if you delete the domain it will delete the data too, sounds like yuo may be best to make an alias

Assuming I understand the problem, you could add the new domain, copy the files from the old domain folder into the new domain folder, and then delete the old domain.
