On October 22 at 23:30:00 CDT 2013, we will be finalizing the Windows 2003 to 2008 R2 move for Win32 server on Cluster1. With the end of life nearing on windows 2003 there are an increasing amount of attacks and problems coming on 2003 based servers, we are taking this time to move 2003 based servers to 2008 for existing clients. The process has been time consuming for this first move as many Parallels tools were not working 100%, but now we have made scripts to address most of those issues. The remaining issues are more along the lines of Class ASP based sites having parent paths or other features needing to be enabled.

Also we shall be moving all the 2003 servers one by one to 2008 for which we shall post for them independently.

Thanks,
Shubham Saxena

This migration is going well, however we have noted that anyone with a generic setting to 'php5' is not being activated to any php, as new server has 5.2 and 5.3 options. Before we go live with the IPs on this server we are going to go in and set these to all 5.2 version of PHP and this will delay the IP swap portion a bit. The IP swap will likely be mid-late morning as an ETA now, the downtimes should be minimal and file sync is done till now, but we will likely not have time for another complete file sync before then. If you have edited files we'll be able to retrieve them manually if needed.

With the PHP issue noted above its making the creation of settings take longer than anticipated so we're not even able to start fixing the PHP settings yet. At this point we ask users to refrain from making Hsphere side changes on Win32 as they will not change anything on the server that is currently live for their websites, but this new server that is not live yet.
If you need a task on win32, please submit via ticket.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but there is really no update to give yet. Win32 creation process on new server still going, existing server still serving up pages.

9am CDT OCt 24th update - The creation is completed some time back and we are setting up the PHP to work properly for all (manually) at this time, we are going to resync the files one last time due to delays in the process, and set permissions. Tonight the IP changes will be made, probably around 10pm-midnight Central Daylight Time.

I regret to say that the PHP problems are bigger than expected and we've had to get Parallels Hsphere team on board to help, from the development standpoint, so it is going to be delayed by 36-72 hours at least at this point. We will keep it synced and ready for moments notice move if required for any reason. Win32 will not work on Hsphere at this time.

We have again setup a file sync and it is expected to completed by tomorrow. We will migrate its IP when file sync gets completed.

This move is postpone for the next 24 hours approx. as the php problem still persist on the new server and parallels team required some more time to fixed it.

We'll keep the server synced and update here once issue resolved and ready for the move.

We are seeing some asp.net domains not working properly on win32 and checking them

The move was completed successfully but we are seeing this errors on few .net sites which we are fixing
