Connection Refused for domain

Hi.

Since I joined Jodohost I have been getting quite ridiculous response times on our domains, its getting so bad that we now are a hit and a miss to get a timed out message, connection refused or simply a page not found.

Doing a traceroute on the domains show we are coming up against an unresponsive router somewhere in Washington on hop 5 or 6. Could this be the whole problem, or is there more to this?

The reason I am posting this here rather than open a ticket is because, yea you guessed it, I keep getting a connetion refused message trying to reach the support area...

Maybe someone from Jodohost can have a look at this for us before we take any drastic decisions?

Many thanks

Nunkl

This might be some network issue for you since I have not heard of any other customer complaining of such an issue. Please PM me with a traceroute to our network

Also the support desk is down due to an unexpected outage on web2 which is currently being resolved by team (it went down 10 minutes ago). See announcements

I am in the UK, the router that is not responding is US based.

Doing a tracert in the last few minutes show this router as not responding:

globalcrossing-level3-oc12.washington1.level3.net.

And here is a link to a tracert I did yesterday when you asked for one:
Tracert Yesterday

Some assistance with this would be appreciated if anyone knows how to help!

nunkl, that tracert actually reaches the destination, it would be best for you to do a tracert from your local pc to get the best data for us, for privacy you can remote the first 3 hops without a problem.

It might be me, but I'm seeing some similarities with [thread=4685]this problem[/thread] here. Are you by any chance using a cablemodem?

No I use a Zyxel Prestige router for a multi computer network.

Thats not the issue anyway, my website users are getting this connection error as well, and they range from all over europe to the far east (Dubai).

There has also been intermitten mysql errors along the lines of 'cannot connect to database blah blah'.

Here's a tracert from my machine to the server:

4 42 ms 41 ms 41 ms ge-4-1.metro1-londencyh00.London1.Level3.net [21
2.113.11.33]
5 44 ms 41 ms 43 ms so-1-2-0.gar1.London1.Level3.net [212.113.0.114]

6 43 ms 41 ms 41 ms ge-1-1.core1.London1.Level3.net [212.187.131.133
]
7 42 ms 43 ms 41 ms ge-5-0-0.ar2.LON3.gblx.net [208.51.239.161]
8 144 ms 145 ms 145 ms so7-0-0-2488M.ar2.MIA1.gblx.net [67.17.67.142]
9 144 ms 145 ms 145 ms 69.28.191.90
10 146 ms 145 ms 143 ms win5.m****here.biz [204.14.106.29]

I do not see any issues at all, I am going to check with the network companies to see if there is any issues with european routing, as I have not seen nor heard of such problems until this.
