External email server

Hello,

I need some guidance with email. Basically, i need to point the MX record of one of my websites to an external email server without loosing any email in the current server hosted at Jodohost. What's the best way of doing this? Should I delete the JodoHost MX record and add the one pointing to a new IP address? And if I do that, will I have access to these mailboxes by using the IP address or control panel. Should I also add an A record pointing to the new server such as mail.domain.com?

Basically you need to create A record pointing to new ip address.
After that you need to delete existing MX record and add new MX record pointing to A record. Email addresses can be accessed using webmail.
