Is it safe for someone to upload important file backups onto their account as long as they are stored outside of the domain directories?

Is there any way at all that someone could access the files?
 
If you have a php app that has remote includes or expliots it will allow the same access as a ftp user, ie traversal to all domains in the user account.
 
I'm not really sure what that means. I am just wondering if its safe to store files @ D:\hshome\myaccount

I use ipswitch ftp pro to access it.
 
You asked if it was possible for someone to reach them, my answer is yes if there is a PHP or ASP hosted domain that has a vulnerability there is a way for them to be reached quite easily, at the user level that houses each domain
