FTP via WS_FTP PRO

When I connect to my sites via WS_FTP PRO, sometimes certain things won't work. For example, I can't just delete a folder, I have to access the folder, delete the contents, and then I can delete the folder.

I can't cut and paste items from 1 folder to another, I have to re-upload particular files into that other folder.

If I am working via Internet Explorer, then I can delete a folder and its contents.

oh yea, I can't CMOD my files via WS_FTP PRO. I tried doing it to .cgi files, and it wouldn't work.

Thanks, I might give it a shot. Thing is, WS_FTP PRO is one of the best, and the fact that I am having these issues kinda sucks. I would probably have to re-create ALL my connections.
 
I use WS_FTP Pro as well and am able to delete whole folders. Have you checked your preferences and set them to allow you to do that? If not, it won't let you.

yep, i can tell you i've had the same issue - with FlashFXP.

i usually have to write in to support, at which stage its miracuslously "fixed".

i think its some kind of permission on their side that must be set.
