Glue Records question

I'm not sure if this is possible on the shared account system.

But can I create ns1.mydomain.co.uk as a name server, if I create a sub domain (ns1) and switch it to dedicated IP.

I can already create glue records at my registrar so thats not a problem, just don't know how I can do it on shared account.

on a shared account you will be unable to have an official NS record that makes the glue, it is only supported on the reseller accounts in the E.Manager Server Aliases. That being said, we have some shared clients doing this without any issue. Just when you go to a tool like dnsreport it will give the nameserver custom then a (no glue) message to the side.

Thanks for the reply Stephen.

What i've done so far is create to A records under mydomain.co.uk :

ns1.mydomain.co.uk IN A 204.14.104.150
ns2.mydomain.co.uk IN A 204.10.105.200

I've then gone to ukreg when my domains are registered and changed the name servers to point as above. According to ukreg, to make my glue records i have to enter the name servers as: ns1.mydomain.co.uk[full stop][space][ipAddress]

so I have set up ukreg as follows:
ns1.mydomain.co.uk. 204.14.104.150
ns2.mydomain.co.uk. 204.10.105.200

Does this sound correct?
