Hi
I want to host a java chatting server. What platform will be suitable
for it -- Windows or Linux?
Does your server have Java Virtual Machine which is
required by my chatting application? If yes then what version?
In the future it will also support Audio and Web cam features. Do I need to
have a dedicated server for Audio and Web cam!?
And could you also please give me an idea that will 25 GB bandwidth be enough
for a month for 50 users chatting on my server? (it includes audio and web cam)

Java Virtual machine is a Client-Side tool so it doesn't
matter if the server has it or not, it's be?ng parsed by
the browser if it has the Java Virtual Machine. So it's possible
to host java applet's if your visitors have some kind of java pakket
installed like Java Virtual Machine.

I don't know their are applets providing webcam and micro support
but I know the new flash communication server can do that but that's
not installed on the servers here I think.

25 GB is a hell of a lot, so I think it will be enough but it all depends in
what quality your visitors are streaming the images and audio.

Grtz
