Need a Gmail Invite

Just curious, what is a Gmail invite, and what do you get invited to?

EDIT: I just looked up gmail on e.bay. Should have done that first.
 
Ah, it is a google mail invite. google mail is not open to the public, so some people have "invites" to invite their friends to join.

As of now that is the only way to sign up, it is woking much like a well executed viral marketing plan, and booming success.

Gmail is much like google, simple, to the point, and nifty tools for your web based mail, the 1GB storage part is a moot point I believe.

I don't know if posting the invite links directly on here would be a good or bad idea.

Simply send me an email at the SAME userid as here at gmail.com.

Just use the words "please" and "gmail invite" in the subject line.
