Network Maintenance Update - Just a briefing and pre-notice

We have moved all the Hsphere servers already to the new facility, and now just completing a couple on the same network that were specialized purpose servers. We are getting all the behind the scene work done for changing the network announcements to shift to our new Dallas facility as primary on the shared/Hsphere network later this week. We do not have an exact timeframe yet, but will update with the time range when we have confirmations that all the prep is done from all sides. This part doesn't rely entirely on us, we're waiting on communications from providers and networks upstream as we prep to push out the routing changes to make sure they are accepted and not blocked as a rogue network change.
Once this change happens the network access will speed up a lot, and you will see a substantial increase in network performance. We've worked hard to make this happen as promptly as possible without any delays, and looking forward to getting the changes in place so that we all can have some relief.

Once we have the timeframe in place we will post it on Facebook and here as an announcement.

Working on one more confirmation before we can set a time for this looking like it may be tomorrow night or Saturday morning, but this is NOT set yet, just an early warning notice for those wanting the most frequent updates.

We had some delays in getting some routing filters in place but almost done now.

There was an issue with the link between facilities that lasted about 20 minutes some time ago, providing this was an update after the fact now. Once the network routing changes there will no longer be a need for the link between making an additional point of failure on the shared network.

Been up and going now, and actually much better than even before. Got stuck in a mini traffic jam on the offramp or I'd have been here even sooner.

We haven't been able to get the final confirmations on making routing changes yet, but have gotten things working much better via the site to site link with some added optimization after the hardware change was made.

We will be doing a brief maintenance tonight to reboot a router in prep for making the network go live on the Dallas side of the network. This will be 3-5 minutes at most, and occur between 11pm and 1am timeframe.

We are having to delay the maintenance by a short while for Plesk Linux server to complete moving without interruption, about 1.5 hours it looks like now.

ok about to start the maintenance that will include a reboot of the router now.

Forgot to update, but about 4 minutes to complete, and went very well. We are now prepped for some settings to take place tomorrow as soon as I know a time I'll make it's own post regarding that maintenance.

It looks like we will be making the changes to go live in Dallas tomorrow morning, likely between 6am and noon, but this is still early info. Will post as it's own subject and topic here and on Facebook when it is firmed up.
