SMTP Problem?

I am getting mail sent to [email protected] bounced with the following message:-

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at mail.m****here.biz.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<[email protected]>:
Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. vpopmail (#5.1.1)

This onlu occurs if I send the email via a jodohost account. If I use a different SMTP messages get through fine. Any ideas?

The only reason for this that I can think of is that authorative DNS records for this domain exist on the JodoHost servers.

(A bit later)

A check confirmed my suspicions. Compare these two responses from my local nameserver and JodoHost's NS1:

> wnir.co.uk.
Server: xxxxxxx
Address: 192.168.0.1

Non-authoritative answer:
wnir.co.uk MX preference = 5, mail exchanger = mailserver.wnir.co.uk

wnir.co.uk nameserver = ns1.livedns.co.uk
wnir.co.uk nameserver = ns2.livedns.co.uk
mailserver.wnir.co.uk internet address = 213.171.216.117
ns1.livedns.co.uk internet address = 213.171.192.250
ns2.livedns.co.uk internet address = 213.171.193.250

> wnir.co.uk.
Server: ns1.jodoshared.com
Address: 64.156.220.224

wnir.co.uk MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = mail.jodoshared.com
wnir.co.uk nameserver = ns1.jodoshared.com
wnir.co.uk nameserver = ns2.jodoshared.com
mail.jodoshared.com internet address = 63.209.158.6
ns1.jodoshared.com internet address = 64.156.220.224
ns2.jodoshared.com internet address = 64.156.223.231

An explanation for this is that at some point the domain was hosted at JodoHost. Possibly the account is no longer active, but obviously some DNS records still are.

Yes, this can happen, open a ticket and we'll delete this domain from the system if its not being used
