I just got off the phone with an associate of mine who bought a reseller account today. He knew nothing about hosting and went with the reseller plan because of the amount of databases and services he plans on using. He may eventually start reselling but for now it's for his own personal use.
However, he was completely lost after signing up for the account. I ended up finding the link to the Reseller Manual and sending it to him and from here he was fine, however he asked where I found the link.
My suggestion is that in the email sent to new resellers you include a link to the docs and say, "to get started, read this page."
