Support is not Consistent - Please clarify!!

I am hosting 2 sites with 2 different accounts, first site has been up and running for about 3 months, I have shares SSL
on both since we could not use the existing SSL from Geotrust
on one of the site due to not having the private key???

My first site was working good for a while (that is the SSL),
i was able to see the site using https://www.mydomain.com and now it is not working.

The other site been with Jodohost for the last week or so, after a while we got the shared SSL working the way it suppose to with the help of the support team. I can see the site using both http and https.

I submitted a ticket for the SSL on the first site, I was told by the support team "As I see from your CP you have only shared SSL enabled. Now shared SSL works for the third level domai like *.m****here.biz. This is working as per you update for
https://mydomain.m****here.biz
You need a SSL certificate for running it on
https://www.mydomain.com/"

My question is Why the other site is working with a shared SSL? and why the first site was working for over 2 months with a shared SSL and now it is not working? I would like to get the answers to those question if possible, i feel like when something get updated on the server to accommodate something it effect something else since i did not change any setting for the non working site.

Amjad, could you send me a Private Message with a ticket number for reference?

Great - Now the Working site is no longer working.
It was working by mistake as one of the support indicated. (the only thing was working fine is by mistake)!!!!

This what i am talking about, one site worked for 2 months with a shared SSL the way i want it, then i transfere my other site to work fo a couple of days, you need to be consistent. I am already tired of all these tickets and baby setting my site to see what is going to stop working on it. All I need to do is change the DNS on my domain and i am back with my old host.

Amjad, you are not understanding the concept of Shared SSL here

Using https://mydomain.com is wrong and illegal. We recently upgraded to HSphere 2.4 which has a new Shared SSL concept. In the old concept, you could use https://mydomain.com althought it was technically incorrect. In the new concept, you cannot use https://mydomaun.com but have to use https://domain.m****here.biz

Using https://mydomain.com for Shared SSL is illegal not only with us but any host.

If you want to use https://mydomain.com, you must buy your own SSL certificate for mydomain.com

Yash,

For 2+ months one of my sites was working with a shared SSL
was working as https://www.Domain.com , I did not know much about shared SSL and i thought this how shared SSL works.

I moved my other site to be hosted by you, i have my own SSL from geotrust, i was talking to support for a couple of days trying to get it installed, they said the can not do it due to an error in the private key????

Unforunately, your usage was illegal. Infact, even when it was working, your customers were receiving a "SSL certificate doesn't match domain" error which can be very embarrasing for your business

If your private key has an error, I recommend you generate a new private key and CSR from the control panel. Use that CSR to buy a new certificate for your domain and use the private key generated with the SSL certificate you receive to install it on your domain
