Using IMAP

I am unable to logon to IMAP. The problem is more than likely that I am trying to access it incorrectly, so confirmation of whether the process I am using would be helpful.

First, POP3 email collection works fine, so I know my user name and password are okay. But when I substitute POP3 for IMAP it doesn't want to know.

Herewith how I am connecting:

Mail server: mail.mydomain.co.uk
User name: MyUserName
Password: MyPassword

Am I using the right server, or is it a different one for IMAP?

this is shared/reseller hosting?

Make sure you use the full mail address as well for the username.

It is shared/reseller hosting. And using the email address for the username is the only way I know of collecting POP3 email - which doesn't seem to work for IMAP.

Just had a thought - does IMAP require other ports to be open on my firewall?
