WEb Data Administrator: Security

I've finally had a chance to take a good look at the Web Data Administrator. Vey nice application! I notice in the help file it states:

"The security credentials are passed from the web browser to the Web Data Administrator using a normal plain-text form POST over HTTP. When using the Web Data Administrator over an unsecure network (the Internet, for example) it is recommended you enable secure socket layer (SSL) for this application."

Am I right in thinking that enabling SSL for this app is done at JodoHost's end, or is this something a user can do at their end? Obviously sending unsecured login information can result in someone compromising the data or even deleting an entire database, so I'd like to make sure it is secure before I continue to use this application.

Thanks!

Yes, we will be securing Web Data Admin, CP and other web services on the new cluster we plan to have up shortly
