Haii All.
I had a separate mail server and web server machines both running on fedora core 1.
Later we upgraded mail server from core 1 to core 2.... but left web server as it is.
the consequence was --- squirrelmail giving some imap server.
We solved this problem by starting the cyrus-imapd demon.
The next problem that came was squirrelmail not accepting user logins..
So we started saslauth demon as solution...
The next problem that came squirrelmail being unable to open mbox(inbox) of users.
This was also obviously an IMAP server problem so we stopped Cyrus-Imap demon and started dovecot imap demon....
But still we cannot access the mbox.....
Error given by squirrelmail is that it is unable to find mbox.
I applied a temporay solution by changing the squirrelmail conf.pl file
by giving "none" option for default folder prefix .
The squirrelmail was now able to access folders like Drafts,Sent....but not mbox..
So i created a temporary link to "mbox" in every user accounts "mail" directory
mbox is actually present in home directories of the users
So i had to do for every user...
cd mail/
ln -s ../mbox
Actually i have not been able to understand the problem as well.
The solutioni gave above is not a good solution because when new users will be added same thing needs to be done.....Is there a better solution.........Will using UW imap solve the problem...
