I am new to WordPress and was wondering if either platforms Linux /Windows would be okay to use and setup in a shared environment. I have Windows server experience and little Linux experience, and I quick learner. I would want to be on the platform that would give me less hassles and more security.

Would you know the amount of shared process memory available for Starter / Value shared hosting plans?

    Hello,

We are a bit flexible on the limits but generally set at 64MB for the php limit. On the windows side we'll up it a little more but but not extreme levels.

Both windows and linux run well for anything PHP and not much difference in performance as all the Windows servers are running in IIS7.5 with fastcgi and it works well.
