Is there some major issue at Jodohost? All the server were dow na few mins ago, couldn’t even connect to Jodohost until now and they are still all slow if I can connect at all, some still dead or extremely slow.
Something happen thats for sure. Whole network went down.
Same here – just waiting for my high-maintenance customer to call in screaming. What do I tell him?
I already had a few… 8)
Everything was down for us since just before 10:30am EST until just after 11 am as well. Couldn’t even ping any Jodohost servers - mail, web, database, etc. Sent email to Stephen via GMail, but no response yet, so he must be in the middle of repairs.
Something major definatly happened, As far as i could tell, servers were fine. monitoring on jodopulse seemed fine. A traceroute suggested a router problem.
jodohost, forum, all sites etc were not accessible.
I would like to ask why oh why, hant jodopulse been finished yet. It was meant to be an off-network tool so that we could see what was going on. It never gets updated, so when something like what just happened, we are still none the wise.
It has annoyed my slightly because its been “in the works” for a long long time now, just like everything here at jodo.
Ddos attack.
I?m thankful they manage to get everything sorted out so fast.
It?s all back online.
Thanks guys (Y)
Its back but still very slow. Hope they get it fixed soon.
We were updating at WebHostingTalk network outages forums.
I think this highlights a problem that was suggested some time ago.
Support.jodohost.com needs to be hosted elsewhere - totally seperate from the Jodo network so in times like this communications with resellers etc can continue.
This is a MUST I believe.
Greggers, we have jodopulse for that but have been franticly fighting off the DOS attack.
Stephen - That’s great, but who knows about this. Not a dig at you in the slightest because I know that events like this are totally out of your control, but these forums and a status page should be hosted somewhere else.
Where are these forums Stephen? I can’t seem to find anything there.
a site on a dedicated IP has been null routed, and attacking sources null routed, traffic is now back to normal levels.
Agree, How did we know to goto webhosting talk.
Also, jodopulse hasn’t been used.
Thanks for all your efforts stephen. really do appreciate them
My comments are directed at jodo in general:
jodopulse is a bit of a shambles. The intention was great. Why was is never finished? Even the monitoring isn’t the best. servers mislabelled. E.g. web2 is actually on unix3.
I really do fear, so many things jodo has said they are going to do. And it takes 4 times as long, or it never materialises. Have Jodo grown to big. I think they need more staff over in USA to aid Stephen.
What do others think?
Yes, we are looking for one more person in Miami.
bored,
jodopulse graphing, it has a server limitation, SNMP is heavy on the server, and we need to move it, its just a matter of time, not so much staff wise.
We did need to update there I agree, Tanmaya and I both were just on the phone, on chats, on hold with many places all at once to get this blocked.
I could not get to jodopulse during the attack, however I was able to get through to Live support to get the scoop. ![]()
Thanks Stephen for getting this resolved.
