We have been experiencing extreme sluggishness for various sites we have running on the cf1 server.
It has been a recurring problem.
Anyone else running on this server been having these issues?
This is cluster1 or 2?
I am not aware of any issues on either currently.
I just checked CF sites on both loading quickly for multiple pages CF powered.

Stephen - Whether you see it right now doesn’t matter. The fact is that our clients and their site visitors and we personally, have been seeing this.
We experienced it multiple times with meeting with a client today. Shortly after that another client reported:
“This week we have noticed that our website is running extremely slow.* Can you please look into this for us?”
It is definitely real and recurring. I can get on www.greatereastend.com now and click around for a bit and I will eventually experience a long load delay. Sometimes it is long enough the page times out.
I am seeing something a bit odd on that site with a continually load from a different url, maybe an instant alias. I am trying to find it in the source without success so far. But the site loads up fine, just it continues to do something in the background.
one thing I see that would help a lot you may want to take a look, only sluggish thing i have found:
1,712px × 2,288px (scaled to 448px × 600px)
2,816px × 2,112px (scaled to 90px × 68px)
these are on the eat end project pages, there are several such, each nearly 1.5MB to download, so quite large and slow.
I know that isn’t what you are talking about, but certainly something that can be optimized 
Stephen - there is a feature on the site that may be hitting the instant alias. It may be an issue for this site but not the others. I will check on that and report back.
They do have some large images here and there as well, but they would not affect pages on which they do not display.
It is a general slow load from page to page that we and they experience. It is not any particular image heavy page. Same goes for both cordua.com and mhahouston.org.
A couple of us have been browsing since posted, and not seeing slowness. But we continue to visit it randomly going to different pages.
do you want me to move this to customer only to protect URLs from google’s every vigilant eyes and indexing?
what would be the purpose of quarantining from Google?
Right now the site is pretty snappy.
I did update a URL in the Flash movie that was referencing the instant alias. However, it hasn’t been loaded to the site yet.
But, again, the issue is not limited to this site. The other two sites on this server that have been reported by both customers as “extremely slow” are:
just sometimes clients don’t want links from here hitting google, so i offered that as an option (reseller anonymity is the main reason for them)
ok in flash is the instant alias, makes sense why I did not see it in the page source.
We are keeping an eye on it as well.
Ah. I see. I didn’t quit understand what you meant regarding Google. Probably couldn’t hurt to quarantine the posting. We’ll be trying to continue this conversation with you to demonstrate the issues we’re concerned about.
I have moved it over for you and added you as a customer, for technical sake I need you to enter your hosting username in the profile on your forum account, so that i can verify it as a customer. Now since I’ve already got URLs here I clearly know that you are a customer, I just need to ‘follow the rules’ for customer access.
So that being said, we are keeping a watch on this for you, I hit the the greater east end site a couple times over the weekend and browsed around randomly, I wasn’t sitting here all day watching it or anything but random visits yes.
I had once that a page took 7.8something seconds to load (according to Lori on firefox), but it only lasted for one page. 7.8 seconds is a little slow, but not extreme.
In case anyone is on it now, http://www.greatereastend.com/ is sluggish right now.

looks like it may be an Access DB at fault, we are mailing the client or reseller about it.
Stephen - I am the client/reseller. There is no Access database implemented on this site.
Also, I don’t see any place to enter a hosting user name in the forum profile…and I am a reseller anyway.
No i wasn’t implying it was you, I was saying Access was making this slowdown and we caught it, that is why Access is so evil, it affects everything!
We emailed THE reseller of the client responsible for this, and gave them info, and requested attention promptly.
Stephen - so you mean that someone else on the server is running an Access DB that is affecting all of the sites on the server?
Yes Squidz, you are right.
So, how does that situation get remedied? Do they move to a dedicated server for the benefit of the rest of us? Is the DB just too big and eating into server resourced. What are the next steps?

This has been happening since people used Access DBs for DBs on websites, we deal with it almost daily. If affects ASP based sites more than CF, but mostly because it seems more people using ASP are using MS Access than on CF.
We sent a warning that is needs to be shrink and optimized and if that does not resolve moved to SQL server to not interrupt other accounts on the server, this case is annoying when it happens but it is hardly severe requiring immediate shutdown of the site. there have been cases that it was so bad that no sites worked as long as the Access DB was online, this is not oen of those times.
We gave a 24 hour notice to the user that they must contact us and work to resolve, if we do not hear back from them the site will be disabled until they work on it to resolve.
They still have about 3.5 hours from the time the notice was sent yesterday.
