Jodohost seems to be falling behind in what they have to offer for their prices…
Other hosts are offering such higher bandwidth and storage for the same prices… I won’t name them though, that’d be mean.

Than give the other comapnies a try and we’ll see if you won’t come back here…
We won’t go to the uber budget level pricing and storage, it is not a market that you can pay the bills in much less have new servers on a regular basis and a staff to answer questions.
I agree I am more than happy with what I have. Ill take great support/great servers versus 1gb more of disk space or 20 gb of bandwith. There is a reason why places like that seem to disappear after awhile.
I don’t feel like I get less support at the other places, having accounts on here and there.
I am not saying im unhappy with jodohost in the least bit, just saying that others are offering huge amounts more on the bandwidth and storage end, which is why i choose to host some of my sites elsewhere.
not an attack just a comment!
I did not take it as a complaint or a hit, but saying we won’t be going that way until it is economically feasible ![]()
Why do poeple just have to complain in forums, Jodo is great and the prices are great. [COLOR=“Blue”]STAFF IS AMAZING.They listen to us and try to correct the issue if it is causing problems for their clients. Anyone wants to go try elsewhere and pay lower prices for huge amonut of bandwidth and space. Good Luck. When are people going to learn this.
I have done research on alot of resellers using H-Sphere, and i find only a few that I would work with. Don’t believe me go research yourself and look at uptimes, support etc. ratings.(Again H-Sphere Resellers)
I am getting to hate fourms on the internet, people just want to bast people and compain, complain. Why not thank Jodo Host what they have done for us. When will people understand we are dealing with machines, hackers, etc. every host has problems, I find Jodo Host to handle them well and honest. They are my 4 th Reseller. Good luck trying to find anyone as great and pay less.
Hence. What about new servers they are getting for us, and everything else that is offered to us?? Why have they grown to where they are at this point??
Yes i am having a bad day, and this just pissed me off even more. X( X( Everyday thats all i see in Forums (not this one) complaints, complaints and bashing of compaines.
This is the customer only forum, and we highly value customer opinions, so it is OK for anyone to voice this. ![]()
Just some things we can’t do.
I know and this is not directed at anyone person. I just think you guys are great, and 95% of your clients would agree with me, and the last few days, I’ve seen some ridicious complaints and clients putting down JodoHost in your fourms.
Everyone has their opinion, and I am just having a bad day. Some of us, need to step back and look at your amount of clients and what you guys have to deal with and how hard it is. It is extremly hard running a hosting company espcially with thousands of clients.
I get busy with a few new clients a week and I get slammed with questions, support etc., I can imagine what you guys go through.
Thanks guys. SOrry for the steam I let off. ![]()
It is ok, we all have bad days, and sometimes we do too ![]()
I understand the bandwidth restrictions as they directly cost jodo money all the time. But hard drive space is a one time purchase, and hard drives are getting much cheaper.
It would be nice to get a storage space increase at least.
HDs really aren’t getting cheaper, when we are going back to SCSI fully.
On the reseller plans?
I think we are one of the cheapest hsphere reseller hosts around..
Also keep in mind we are using high performance hardware..
And the bandwidth is pure InterNap… Most providers provide bandwidth from cheaper providers
personally am happy with price and bandwidth etc
though i have to say.. (sorry but stephen did say voice your opinions :D)
when i first started with jodo i felt the customer service and honesty was great, but i cant help but feel maybe jodo have expanded far to fast for them to handle
i feel that when RC collapsed or what ever happened to them, and a huge flood of ‘RC Refugees’ stumbled to jodo, i felt the quaility of service to drop dramatically, eg server uptimes, and evidence of them expanding fastly is the fact we get a new server every month or what ever it is.
though all that said, Win5 is acctually FAR more stable that it EVER used to be (all Win5ers am sure will know what i mean) i dont know what you did, but it worked, though i bet i gone and spoke to soon and it’ll have a classic crash now ;(
sorry just had to get the RC stuff off my chest - and stephen did ask for it ![]()
summery: i agree and disagree with the “falling behind” statement
i agree Jodo is falling behind interms of keeping up with there growth
but i disagree jodo is ‘technically’ falling beheind, as they ARE restricted in what they can offer by hsphere - eg .net 2 will be better supported when hsphere supports it better - though they did the best they could on supporting that
anyway thats ‘my 2 cents’ as they say
Hmm, I think our customer support has been improving over the years.. Both in terms of the quality of response and speed with new features like LiveChat..
Win5 had issues in late 2004.. Yes I remember it had 2 crashes that year.. and it did our reputation plenty of harm.. But the server is performing strongly as we enter into 2006..
Remember, Stephen joined us full-time in January 2005 also… after the Win5 crash..
Infact Prakash has disabled 3 abusing scripts on Win5 today that were spiking up load.. So we continue monitor all servers closely…
Scotty_32,
You are correct that we have had a huge influx of new customers since that point, but we have also had some new techs, and now a new level3 windows tech. With so many customers coming in so rapidly, I feel the only area that fell behind some was me in answering all the level3 tickets for windows. Prakash is doing very good, still coming to me for some items, but overall adding this second of level3 windows tech coverage puts us into just about 3 hours each day not having a level3 tech.
In addition, we now have an additional level3 linux tech, and have streamlined some of our support operations since the new year. We recoginized with the new growth, we could not have the “jack of all trades” technical support we once utilized.
When on livechat, one department may pick up, and after seeing the issue transfer you to someone with the right skills/ability to do the job best, we have begun doing this a lot more now, as it maximize’s each persons abilities, and gets to the bottom of the technical issue faster as well.
I am seeing improvements in the last month or two, and hoping for even more soon. ![]()
I’ll tell you why people slam Jodo.
Idiot/Non-English/Don’t Care/Uneducated Support staff.
Jodo has come a long way in stability. I am confident in there technical operations. (it use to suck)
But support still sucks. If they could clone Stephen, GREAT! But the support available 24hrs a day blows. I am not sure who you guys are getting in touch with, but I always end up with the people who do not care.
Examples - I say something in live chat and 15 minutes later there is no reply. I ask… Hey what’s going on, and I get “We are looking up your account” WTF?
Example 2 - I sit in Live Chat for over an hour asking VPS questions. He gives me crappy answers and tells me to open a ticket. 20 Hours later they reply with a “Go to LiveChat and ask them during the day” WTF?
There are plenty more issue with support. But let’s all admit, once a user has been put through that a few times, they are pissed and rightly so.
There are a few ocations where I recieved steller support. And I also sang praise in the forum. It is just far and in between that that happens.
My 2 Cents.
Hello DSH,
The issue is that some times of day there are no chats, and sometimes there are 15 at a time, I will admit that on at least 5 occasions I have been in a chat with more than one person, and accidentally forgotten the other was open as I was focused on fixing the issue that came in first.
Recently I have gotten to where if I handle more than one at a time, I ask the second party to hold until I have the other resolved, this gives you a chance to give full attention to the matter at hand.
I will speak with Yash, and the other techs, and see if this might be a better route to take, it might mean a slightly longer HOLD time, but once the hold is done, we will be focused on the customer 100%.
Stephen, you give good straight answers. That is not what happens in the LiveChat or even email tickets. If someone is multitasking, they need to ask the other customers to hold. Or at least let them know what is going on. Too many times they leave things open ended for 10+ minutes at a time. A quick question becomes 45 minutes of waiting.
As far as opening tickets… wast of time to me. It is a waste of time because the support staff have absolutley no people skills. Technical questions can be difficult to explain, but when they hit a difficult question, they either blow it off or guess at the answer. They never ask questions or try to return a dialog that could resolve the issue.
It gets old.
We are answering over 100+ tickets a day and I rarely see these sorts of issues.
Please give me some ticket #s..
LiveChat, you can certainly expect wait times of around 10 minutes if its a heavy, busy day.
