For the past three months I have reported incidents of email either getting lost or long delays. This problem has become critical in the past 6 weeks and right now my business hangs in the balance. An email sent to me last night was never received and I lost that client.
I have been juggling multiple support tickets with your technicians, who either tell me the problems are fixed (they are NOT), or that there is no problem (there definately IS a problem). I have seen other postings here from people experiencing the same problems. Are the email servers being blocked? What is going on? Please …
ALL my clients are experiencing email problems. I will go out of business if I cannot get this fixed this week.
Thank you to Stephen who answered my postings on webhostingtalk.com and directed me to this forum. I’ve tried everything else.
Looking in the control panel, under E. Manager>Server Aliases, it looks like the primary mail server is mail.mhere.biz, backup relay mailserver is mail2.mhere.biz, second mailserver is mail3.mhere.biz, … goes all the way up to mail6.mhere.biz
You’ll need to give more specific examples, as its unlikely there is a problem across all mail servers. Likely to be specific with a mailserver account or your dspam configuratio
I have had all my clients report problems with email in the past three months. One client has their spam turned off entirely and still has problems. I have spam catching email boxes for everyone who has their spam turned on and the missing emails don’t show up there either.
It’s interesting to me that you moved this post from the mail support forum linked on the forum homepage to one that is buried in a submenu of a submenu. I thought the point of the forum was to get input from other subscribers as well as technical support. No one else is likely to find this post now, are they?
We had an issue last thursday where a dspam server went down and causes delays.
But since then, we’ve seen no mail delays on any servers.
Regarding missing mail, there is absolutely no technical reason why mail will go missing without a trace. As for a delay goes, there can be multiple reasons that may not be related to our network at all.
What I suggest you do is that when you get your next complaint, post it here with the mail server # and time, and we’ll look it up.
Mail delays can happen on our side, but they aren’t frequent and wouldn’t last for more than an hour. That’s the reality of a shared hosting system.
Also, the section you posted in is meant for questions, not issues.
I appreciate your reply. Here is part of the the latest reply from your technician. I omitted the actual email addresses involved because this is a public forum:
[INDENT]Hi,
I have checked the logs and found the message was successfully delivered
Aug 20 21:35:34 mail3 in[15584]: 1187660134
The message was delayed because there was issue with dspam server, which has been fixed now.
Regards
Neeraj

The email in question did not show up in the recipient’s inbox. It did not bounce back to the sender. It did not show up in the postmaster email inbox which is set up to catch all the filtered spam. In my book, that is “lost.” If it cannot disappear then where is it?
This happens also to a client who has their spam filter 100% disabled. Clearly, the spam filter is not the problem.
The client has no email filters on their email software. We checked the antivirus catch, but it was not their either.
Since this is a problem that exists across several clients, running many different types of systems, I think it unlikely that they all have an issue with their email software.
As I have mentioned, one client has their dspam disabled … so that’s not the problem.
As seen on ticket the log entry was read in reverse causing the confusion. Please do let us know your findings about the issue now.
I’m already working on a long term solution to the recent delay problems and as Yash rightly said it is not easily possible for an email to be completely lost without any indication anywhere.
I had one client who was “loosing” email and it ended up being a problem with Outlook. In fact, they could see that the email was coming down the inbox counter would increment, but when they went to look at them, they were not there. They had to get a tech in to run some sort of PST maintenance utility to get the PST file cleaned up before they could reliably retrieve their email again.
Below are two examples where email is either being blocked or just disappears. There has to be a solution to this problem. I know from reading your forum that I am not the only reseller experiencing this. Please what is the solution.

Hello,
Remote mta is not accepting smtp connections from our mail server.
You need to check at recipient end.
The client with the worst issues is not running Outlook. They’re using Mac email software. As far as I know only one client is using Outlook and I will recommend that they switch to Outlook Express, even though they have not reported problems. I appreciate your insights.
Firstly I edited your post for privacy, spam spiders are bad about picking up addresses like that. So if someone sees that I edited, it was ONLY for addresses not for content.
Second, it looks like this is an outgoing mail issue, not incoming? Can you confirm?
My clients have experienced both outgoing and incoming problems. This particular client has lots of trouble both sending and receiving email to and from certain contacts, while the rest of their communication seems to be normal. However, last Monday the sent the one important email to me that never showed up on my end. As far as I know, this was the first email sent from them to me that went missing.
I also have a problems sending to certain clients. It looks like my email is being refused. Here is an example the error message I received. I put XXX for the domain name:
[INDENT]Hi. This is the qmail-send program at mail3.m****here.biz.
I’m afraid I wasn’t able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I’ve given up. Sorry it didn’t work out.
