Mail server working ok?

Another update.. Two possible causes we have isolated:

  1. Migration related: This is what PSOFT says and they are working on the issue separately to correct it
  2. Spam Flooding: This could be true as there are a huge number of emails in the queue. This is probably leading to the high CPU usage on the machine and hence in the delay in being pushed to the proper mail boxes. This is what our admins are saying

Both issues being worked on simultaneously
If anyone has any concerns or complaints, I’d be fglad to deal with them

Horde is one of my options, but it is listed as “IMP - mail client” instead of as “Horde - mail client” now.

We’ll fix that, dont worry.

Right now all our linux admins are trying to figure out what could be causing the delay. We are treating that 10x more important than webmail atm

Wasn’t worried, was just posting for the previous poster that didn’t see Horde mail.

Ok, 100% spam flooding issue.
PSOFT has also concluded high cpu usage to blame

We are all working on controlling the spam..

This is actually a SATA system and not SCSI which could contrinue to unexpected CPU stress

Yash, my email has gone crazy. I have now just re-recieved a whole load of emails that I downloaded yesterday. I’ve had problems all day recieving email.

Nathan

I am still not able to send/receive mails. What’s going on?

This “transparent” mail server migration has been a pain. My customers can’t even login through webmail. I don’t know what you guys practiced all week up until this migration, but obviously there was more to it than you bargained for. This is very disappointing.

Next time when you do this migration, plan it to start on Friday night and you will have two days to figure out if any problem comes.

This is not at all acceptable.

There is no problem BUT the incoming mail queue delay

For anything else, please open a ticket. We should have that fixed shortly as well.

If you cannot connect to mail server, your IP may have been blocked for mass-mailing. Contact support

OK, there is something with the server configuration (looks like RAID) that is causing the excess CPU usage and all these issues.

Nothing went worng in the migration. Hardware is to blame here.

We should have the incoming delay incontrol in another 45 min

You cannot say “Nothing went wrong in migration”. Server config & CPU usage… all these are part of migration. If there is nothing wrong, why cannn’t we access email? Why cann’t we send/receive emails?

I cann’t even access e-mail via web now.

You can access email, there is nothing wrong in that

If you can’t access email, open a ticket with your IP

The migration when flawless except for the 2 hour delay in emails being received

I submitted a ticket long back and heard nothing since then. So watching this forum for updates. I checked my ticket just now, still no response.

Thanks

PM me your ticket ID#, I’ll take a look

There is no issue in connecting to mail server

Just delay in incoming email due to high CPU load which we are working on

so should mail.domain.com work now?
doesnt for me. is this normal, or ticket-worthy?

Yeah, mail.domain.com not working for me, either. Nor for my buddy who has a separate account/domain…

Again, do you want tickets on all these?

Thanks.

mail.domain.com not working for me also.

Again, I already submitted a ticket and heard nothing so far.

Thanks.

Not working for me either, now. Ticket submitted.

are you not able to ping it or authentication error?
