The last few days seem to have been rough on MySQL10 - CL1.

Any updates on this server - or should we start submitting tickets for every down period?

The current ‘outage’ has been the longest, but this server has had a large number of little outages, usually only for a couple of minutes…either HTTP 500 or Database connection errors.

I have not submitted tickets because they usually disappear pretty quickly - however this last one has lasted long enough for me to come back here and make a post.

I’ve been doing some development on a domain hosted here for the last few days, so I’m very aware of every error and hiccup…maybe indications of either abuse or impending hardware failure?

It is brand new hardware, doesn’t mean it can’t fail (hvm10 did!) but the symptoms here would be totally different.

MySQL10 is not highly loaded, linux admins will check on it.

It’s changed from Error 500 to:

Error 139 (net::ERR_TEMPORARILY_THROTTLED):

So I’m guessing they’re looking into things as we speak.

Yes they are checking, load is 0 but that error seems like something else, maybe useful in ticket.

MySQL10 is on the blink again! My Joomla and Wordpress sites are failing as a result. I’ve raised a ticket to alert the admins.

Typical! Just as I posted the above, MySQL10 sprung back to life again. But…I suspect there is a problem with it somwhere.

Yeah, it’s been a rough morning.
When it is up it seems to report HTTP Error 500 - Internal Server Error about 20-30% of the time.
Just now I refreshed 3 times before getting a page load!
Also, virtually any editing via a CMS (Joomla and Magento cart specifically) seems to be near impossible and file uploads via inline editors are worse.

Yes, it does seem to be very hit or miss. Let’s hope Stephen or one of the other guys can sort it out.

It isn’t server, it is DOS attacks, some of them over a gigabit per second, making some of the network switching congested.

Blocked several IPs and looks stabilized.

Just curious, what’s typical traffic for a MySQL server?

I was looking at the Runtime info for one:

Total 3,283 GiB
9,060 MiB per Hour

I think that was 15 days…seems like a lot!

I am not sure I have stats in that form to be honest.

However, things should be sorted, the blocks look to be holding well and the traffic is well stable.

I’m still having issues with a site using MSSQL 10… waiting (impatiently) for livechat support. :frowning:

Right now all my Wordpress & Joomla sites using MySQL10 are running very sweetly.

MYSQL10 and MSSQL10 different servers, just to be clear :smiley:

We had one issue with DOS, that was the MySQL10 concern, and then MSSQL10 was another matter entirely, there was a hung query that was starting to consume all the processing time, and would not even let us to kill it fully in multiple tries. We rebooted it to solve promptly.

Oh I see this was after the reboot by timestamps, Ashwani must have solved that afterwards. (actually it was DNN matter, not MSSQL10)
