You really need to upgrade/revise/implement a better anti-spam system.
I’m getting swamped by spam and I’m sure everyone else is also.
There are NEW, technically advanced anti spam systems out there, and I suggest you implement one of them.
These systems rely on blocking messages that come from spammer IP’s. OR, they use spam feedback systems to flag spam messages and not let them go through the mail server.
HSphere anti spam isn’t cutting it!!!

Do you have an account at gmail who used to have the best spam filter I’d ever seen? Spam gets in(to the tune of 15-40 a day for me now).
We even pay extra on jodohost.com accounts for postini, but spam is even getting through it, spammers change methods, and they get around spam filters very well now, it seems primitive what they are doing, but spam filters don’t work fully because they don’t want to make false-positives.
I know that there no perfect spam filter but I do wonder if there is something wrong with Spamassassin on mail3.
When I look at the headers of recent spam getting through, the Spamassassin score is very low, sometimes 0.1 or even 0! These are mostly weird looking poorly written v.i.a.g.r.a messages.
I run my own Spamassassin on a VPS not at Jodohost. Similar spam hitting that is frequently getting scores of 20. I thought this was caused by Jodo not querying the external block lists but I raised a support ticket and was assured that it does use them, it just doesn’t write it to the headers.
I intend to send some examples to support. Maybe I can catch the same message going through both systems.
no, as per Tanmaya.. he had removed additional UniRBL checks that is a database of URL frequently found in spam mails. Just order a large bunch of dual cores
Just as a note to everyone only UniRBL was removed, which is actually a different type of RBL than spamcop, spamhaus, and a few others that we do in fact use.
One pattern I’ve seen with spam recently is that it is sent to multiple addresses on the domain, some of which don’t exist. It would seem to me that a spam filter should be able to easily catch this sort of thing.
I’ve also been seeing a host of messages with the intentionally mispelled viagra subject line, many of which are identical. Once again, these really should be making it into the blocked DB, as they’re identical, obvious spam which has been coming in for weeks.
does hsphere, or the emails server software allow execution of command line files? Because spam assassin does well with learning spam, when configured correctly.

Outlook REALLY doesnt help with its pathatically poor anti-spam filter (wait, i forgot, it doesnt have one)
i remember trying Thunderbird (by mozilla.org) that was GREAT for anti-spam, it could learn wot was, and wasnt spam, shame i got a PDA and MS will only let me sync with outlook :der:
but i recommend anyone not tied to outlook to give it a try (note: it doesnt have a calendar and the “plugin” isnt really that great at intergrating it, but it does the job i guess)
if anything, just try moving one email address over at a time.
You really should try the free plugin for Outlook for spam filtering by Spambayes. I have been using it for a long time now and can’t imagine not having it.

Does anyone know of a great antispam for Outlook Express. Customer has a corporate anti-virus/anti-spyware/firewall, but it doesn’t include anti-spam… and they are committed to Outlook Express as they don’t want to spend money on anything else.

Thunderbird is very similar in use to Outlook Express, has built-in junk mail filters, and is completely free. I’ve used it for about a year and it’s much better than OE in any respect I can think of.
I only started using the junk mail feature a few days ago, but it does seem to work fairly well.
What about using Thunderbird as a client with its built in Junk filtering — you can always throw a Outlook Express theme on it to make it look like Outlook Express. ( https://addons.mozilla.org/thunderbird/2349/ )
