Unable to access email services.

thanks for the heads up

It is getting hard to follow answering all the threads, but it is correct that it will reset any email accounts to the base webmaster and postmaster and you will need to recreate accounts if you reset mail services.

so stop telling people to do it!

Re: URGENT: mail problems

I think he meant only the email that was STORED in the account, not all the email that came THRU the account in the last 30 Days. If not, that’s going to be a ton of stuff. I probably received 50megs of email myself in the last month.

I hope that doesn’t mean that if someone saved a message dated in December 2004 that that message is now gone forever. I know customers who save business documents for years online.

I have made it clear in my replies to tickets that recreating would be needed. But it really is best to not do it, as the passwords and everything must be recreated.

you and Yash should stick that ā€œsmall writingā€ in your signature or something

great job guys.

I’ll look forward to the usual update on the new backup systems and procedures that will ensure this will, of course, never happen again.

Are we actually out of the water now?

We are in the final phases of recovery now, there may be a few bumps.

Edit: bumps as in a qmail restart or two, just to clarify before it is asked.
