Turning off mail service just deleted all my accounts. I have a customer who depends on running a 5 campus school system on his email who’s already yelled at me once this morning. He has over 120 email boxes and based on the time estimate earlier I already told him mail would be up in 3 hours (2.5 hours ago)
Note to other resellers: DO NOT turn your customers mail service off and on again wihtou considering that those accounts are going to be wiped out!
I reset my host domain mail service and it connected successfully BUT no mail was delivered. Did resetting my mail service also DELETE my accumulated mail??? By this time in the day I would usually have 20 to 30 messages.
Stephen,
Is there a way to look up the users passwords so I can recreate the accounts once my internal server error problem is resolved. My cutomer is already pissed off at me the last thing I want to do right now is ask him to change his password
Well is anyone answering tickets? I submited a ticket a while ago. I can not restart the mail service on any of my hosted domains. I’ve only turned off 2 so far can not turn them back on
If I delete a specific mailbox and then recreate it, will that have the same effect as stopping/starting the mail service for that single mailbox? If so, will the pending mails for that account still be delivered later today even after I delete/recreate the account?
I’ve got an irate customer who is going insane without his mailbox and needs immediate attention.
So let me see if I understand this right; when you restore the email account from the backup server, they’ll be getting 30 days of email right?? If this is the case, I’ll advise them to setup their email accounts on another identity until they get all the email downloaded and sifted through.
When will web mail be available or when will I be able to access my mail services again?
Because I created the specific account after 5th January how do I turn mail services on and off? Do you actually mean turn mail off on the domain and lose all the email accounts and forwarders and then turn it back on and set them all up again?
