Hey Sensei, I wrote livesupport, and they gave me the same runaround garbage as always… “nothing is wrong with it. Try it again,” and suddenly it’s back up.

I’m sick of this :frowning:

I am always getting almost same reply from support.
Obviously windows accounts work much better than unix, which is kinda strange if you ask me.
It is happening almost every day.
I am sick of this too.

HI,

We are monitoring web2 on high priority, if something happens wrong with it we will update you with correct reason.

Regards

Yogesh told me CPU usage was a bit high, and they restarted apache, they are watching it closely now.

then why don’t you get it through your livesupport people’s heads that when your customers ask, “did you have to restart the server,” they don’t respond with, no, we didn’t do anything, just try it again. Here’s my chat from today…

Yogendra: Hi
justin: hello, can you please check web2? It went down about 10 minutes ago. Thank you.
Yogendra: Justin, please check again.
Yogendra: there is no such issue with web2.
justin: then why were the other servers working fine for me, and not this one? did you restart it?
Yogendra: no

Frustrating! :frowning:

I think he was answering no to rebooting the server, not restarting apache. I will see that we get this cleared up.

Please try to understand that when you talk on live chat you are in most cases dealing with level1 and level2 support. However when the issue happens, our level3 team would be working on it almost immediately. There is obviously a little bit of a communication gap when you log into live chat right away when the problem occurs at that moment or a few minutes prior.

If we have any longish outage (15 minutes +), all staff is informed about it and we make an announcement on the forums as well.

Apache has hanged a few times in the past week (all resolved in under 5 minutes) but we are monitoring it to prevent this

it’s down again 10:00pm Central DST

Cerberus is loading right up for me.

15 minutes, still down?

I haven’t noticed anything and see no downtime report from siteuptime/hyperspin

We are watching this closely. A script is repeatedly crashing apache and we’ll have this permanently fixed soon

It’s not down, open a ticket please

Helpdesk is still down my friend. I just checked and can’t view the web page. ?(

webshell for web2 is also broken. I’m able to access Cerberus now, so i will quickly put up a ticket… maybe moving the account to a different server will solve the problem

EDIT
Cerberus just gave me this error on trying to submit a ticket

Cerberus Support Center [ERROR]: The PROFILE_ID in config.php is not valid. Check the [Configuration]->Public GUI Profiles area in the Cerberus GUI.

webshell on web2 gives the following error:

Warning: (null)(): Failed opening ‘/hshome/hsphere/shared/apache/htdocs/webshell3/index.php’ for inclusion (include_path=‘.:/usr/local/lib/php:/usr/local/pear/PEAR’) in Unknown on line 0

Please email our support addresses if u r having further issues

there have been a few instabilities on web2 which tanmaya is working on but the problems haven’t been continuous and there have only been a few incidents

load is very high right now

[root@web2 home]# uptime
00:54:23 up 8 days, 16:12, 2 users, load average: 30.83, 77.11, 78.13
[root@web2 home]#

we have found a user that is causing most of these issues with his cronjobs

sorry to repost but update:
