Outgrowing Platinum?

What happens when you outgrow the plan you're on? What are the options?

I'm on Platinum right now with over 100 accounts. I'm looking to restructure the plans I offer, which could result in overselling (something I absolutely do not want to do). So I think I may outgrow Platinum sometime in the next several months.

What are my options here at Jodo?

Thanks!
David

Firstly, congratualtions!

2nd, I am not going to get ahead of myself here, but we will be having more options in the near future. I am not making commitments to what it is, but we will be working hard to keep your business as you grow!

if you need more accounts/space than platinum, contact us for a custom plan.
We will in the future offer a path where resellers can move to dedicated servers in a phased sort of way

That is great WOW!

David3r, not to get off topic!

What has been your best marketing tool that you used to build your hosting company. I am growing to and about to upgrade to the next lever. I post alot in fourms, ads here in town and keyword my site well. I am on page one in Google/Yahoo for alot of my keywords that I focused on.

I find once your get a client in the door, and they see how you do business, they buy more plans, upgrade to yearly plans etc and you have them for life. My current clients i usually talk them into 1-3 yearly plans buy throwing in free months and domains.

I will also be buying a another ValueHost reseller package for one of my clients next week, I am going to try this reseller thing I think after I see how it goes with this client

:)

:) Still working on it, we have had some hardware delays as well, stock from manufacturer cant keep up with demand and we can't get in until later this month(this is network side)

After network we can complete the other available plans.

This has already ruined a number of my plans for the next month, I was planning on spending August in TX enjoying my birthday and being near family...But this looks like it will be flowing into those plans as well.

Could you please explain what does it means - "resellers can move to dedicated servers in a phased sort of way" - manualy moving sites and databases? I hope Hsphere have some automated method for moving sites with databases and emails from server to server because manualy moving hundreds of sites will be very difficult. Maybe not so difficult if we continue to use shared email and database servers and old dns servers.

There is no way to move DB and email, but websites yes. We have done it in a very small way with current VPS offerings for some clients, however there is some downsides to it (including a virtual expansion of cluster1 that in turn makes it s bit slower on CP side) we have some ideas on this front over the coming months to combat this as well.

Email and DBs can(have to be) moved manually.

Hello Stephen,

Could you give more info about what will be the price - aproximatelly for dedicated web server - something like - 200 - 500$/month maybe?

Contact sales :)

We are in the middle of some major changes(site) but you can get info from sales on this now.

Stephen, when I contact sales they say - tell me your requerements /I need small server for beginning- but don't know what you have to offer/ - so I don't know what to do - please give more info about these dedicated servers for resellers - disk space, cpu , transfer, databases.

They are all pretty custom, we can offer really 3 choices.
We have no desire to compete on the sheer numbers in bandwidth of others but basically we offer all RAID1+(RAID5/10, no RAID0, no non raid), all drives 320GB+
All dual core or more(no single CPU/core)
and 800GB BW is the standard we put with a package
All are managed up to 20 tickets a month

And prices all start at $250

We can customize it all from there.

Stephen, i read somewhere that you are testing dotnetpanel - what are your plans with it - separate cluster for reseller hosting, dedicated servers, semidedicated or vps hosting? If one have 200 clients on a hsphere server this means aproximately 100$ a month for hsphere licenses - and their panel is not suitable for windows hosting - my opinion is they have no chance compared to dotnetpanel on a windows side. They will be a big stop in the future as microsoft releases new technologies. They don't even have asp.net 2.0 enabled by default.

Hi,

Really need to keep that now in private customer forums, as it is still undecided and not ready to announce yet. I will update there first when I know more.

Hello Stephen,
On windows side, new server 2008 (Windows and SQL) offer some really good new things. I do not see HSphere supporting this setup in 5 years.

Please update us on your ideas, progress, plans, milestones... As small as we might be as companies we are still trying to build some kind of business that has future. We would like to know what that future holds :)

We agree with you on that, we don't see hsphere supporting this in the future and have some plans but at the same time we are weighing plans against current market expansion and such.

So you, as Jodo, know what your supplier will do or won't do. However, we, as your resellers, don't know what you will do... :(
