You are unable to control your Virtual Private Server yet..

Thanks Stephen, yes that'll be it, as I didn't know the minimum amount of space and expected the service to allocate some or at least prompt for some. I'll look forward to more info from Tanmaya, many thanks.

You are unable to control your Virtual Private Server yet..

I'm new to reselling and new to VPS so please bear with me. I set-up a new VPS account 10 days ago but when I login to the new account the response is: Info: You are unable to control your Virtual Private Server yet.. Since VPS creation is a time- and resource-consuming procedure, VPS is...

    reseller bandwidth & databases

I was thinking more of referencing the other database via a stored proc at db server level, rather than via web tier scripting. This is OK though, we can cope with this. It's really a matter of clarification so we know where we are from the outset, rather than a necessity. Thanks once again...

    reseller bandwidth & databases

Stephen et al if I were to sign up for a reseller account with say, 5GB disk space and 80GB bandwidth... can I split the disk space and bandwidth as I please? e.g. if a client wishes to use 3GB disk space and wants 48GB bandwidth, and then I sell the rest to another 2 clients at 1GB...

Web server filesystem - database connectivity

I would be looking at running a job every 60 minutes. I've been working with SQL Server and DTS packages for many years and understand your concerns. It should not adversely affect other users on the server and in terms of resources will load the server much less than attempting the same calls...

Web server filesystem - database connectivity

Thanks jmbeach for the input but I was thinking of using a Windows server, rather than a linux box, and there only really are two options I can think of off-hand: Either you schedule the DTS package execution via the normal windows scheduler which, rightly so, a developer doesn't normally...

Seems it is not possible to schedule...

Web server filesystem - database connectivity

Thanks Stephen for the response. I think I can get around the filesystem issue by storing blobs in the database so this should not pose a problem. Regarding the timed jobs: For exampe: I could create a new HTML newsletter for every week/month/whatever and save it to the database. This is...

Web server filesystem - database connectivity

If I were to signup... How are your web servers and SQL Servers routed? Can I expect a high speed, secure connection between the web server and sql server? If I were to allow uploads to certain sections of my site, can I pull this data from the uploaded filesystem directly in SQL Server...

    SQL Server DTS

If I were to sign up... Do I have full access to Data Transformation Services on SQL Server? If so, are these DTS packages protected within my user account or may other member of the same server, although not the same database, view these packages? May I use CDOSYS services, called from...
