Upcoming Project: Localized Webhosting

What’s webfarm support

in basic form, redundant servers setup in a round robin fashion.

Any update on AU servers?

I’ll second that - any update on AU servers? We’re pinging 250-320 down here. Help!

Its something to do with you loosing the Ashes - I expect your router is sulking

An AU server will 100% be a part of this project.

Any forecast on implementation?

looking forward to that Yash.

love Jodo where the customers are taken into account

End of October, hopefully sooner.

We are starting off with UK & Australia. Singapore would be implemented a little later. I haven’t been able to negotiate a suitable contract there yet

Wonderful guys! Any idea on pricing yet? I know bandwidth down here in Oz is more expensive than in the US…

There will be no increase in pricing of our services. However your bandwidth would be worth less. Say you plan to use 10GB of australian bandwidth per month.. it may actually reflect as 30 or 40GB in your reseller account…

South America is mainly served via Miami, where we are, in fact, I got some details from someone about a week ago with better pings to our servers than some in South America. (What I am saying in brief is there is not a whole lot of need for it, as most internet comes from Miami to South American already), it would only be a 10-20ms increase compared to 100’s for other regions.

Mhhh not really. I have ping times of 10-50ms to local hosts while to Jodo average is 200ms. Anyway, that should improve next week

We’d definitely be interested in UK and Singapore servers.

Has this project died? I know you guys have been busy with the server moves but…any updates or implementation dates??

Just lost a customer cause as he rightly pointed out he has a .com domain & even though my name servers are .com.au his site would be excluded from AU search results because the .com.au name servers IP address resolves back to a US IP address.

I presume there is no work around, so looking forward to any updates on this topic asap

We schedule this around Nov. 15th, 2005.

This is the date available to resellers?

We will take co-location space and hopefully servers be thhere by that time. Only thing that will remain will be the implementation. It may take few more days.

Thanks for the update everyone, looking forward to this very much! Out of curiosity, which data centre in Aus have you decided on?

Just to confirm something with this.. The reseller accounts will be able to ‘push’ people towards server that are local to them via plan ID’s or will we need to have a reseller account for each location?
