And will current customers be able to move servers?
This Australian based idea sound great. Quite excited actually. The cost of local, windows based servers here is huge. I’ve been with Jodo for a little bit, and I think its great. Reliable and great support. Australian servers would be the icing on the cake!!

This is a very important project, can we get some updates please?
I’d like to be able to tell my Aus clients something.
That is, all of them.
Not sure if it’s pre-emptive or even impolite to mention something support told me over email snicker but when I asked, the reply was:
“Australian-based servers will be available in the end of December or the first week of January.”
That sounds like very good news, but I’m sure that’s subject to official confirmation. Just thought I’d share the positive indication.

Just checking in again, to see if there was any more news, or a solid date for Aus hosting?
You only have ONE competitor in the HSphere hosting business in Aus, which is Quadra Hosting. Their offering is terrible from a reseller point of view (see www.quadrahosting.com.au/reseller ) - they even charge a fee for EVERY MSSQL database! And they place limits on domains and emails. So I’m sure you can do much better and gain a chunk of the market pretty quickly. We need competition down here!
The main National competitor (for general hosting) is WebCentral, but they’re so behind the times technically. Their control panel is crap and everything you change takes ages to start working. It’s not an integrated solution, neither is it multi-domain.
Just letting you know, the market is wide open! Personally I really need a reseller account down here simply for the speed factor for my clients. Hosting in the US, while very affordable and technically advanced, is unfortunately just too slow for many Aus clients.

We ran into some issues with it, and are considering it still but there will likely be some changes in the ideas.
so, can you expand on any of the changes/ideas. And give an indication of time? Even a indication on when there will be more announcements about it.

The billing issue is a much larger matter than we initially thought, the idea was what we really want, but we have issues in implementing it.
(by billing I mean bandwidth billing/management)

There have been some reasons for the delay. One was that I hadn’t found satisfactory providers that I could trust… and were charging ridiculous high costs for bw..
This is at least the official plan that has been approved by Atul. Although Atul is keen to move the project a months earlier. These are expensive projects since we don’t just dump a few servers at a location, we setup our own switches, KVM terminals, etc.. have all the spare parts we need.. Make sure we have someone or some company available 24x7 for us, etc.. Lots of planning.. We need to make sure we can grow easily at those locations as well..
Singapore servers would be introduced if these projects are successful. We chose Singapore over Hong Kong because most of the major networks pass through Singapore and its a regional hub for bandwidth.. Bandwidth is probably the chepeast there compared to any other asia-pacific country
