Cluster1 Post upgrade master thread - myh*ph*ere.biz based domain

Just wanted to second the previous post. Many features in the admin panel of the CMS I use for my sites are not working properly after recent hSphere update. They are being stopped by the HTTP Response Splitting rule within ModSecurity. I had a couple of trouble tickets - one has been resolved, another is on hold. This issue is not stopping me in updating the sites (as I can write my changes directly to the MySQL table if I am desperate), but it is seriously slowing me down. I have not seen anything negative affecting sites performance as of yet. One site on web13 was not coming up and needed to have "Apply changes" clicked.

Main reason of my post: can we expect a systemwide soultion to the ModSecurity issue?

I didn't see any further updates on the Alias issues for Cluster1.

I've tried both adding the resource to existing plans and creating a brand new plan...but I don't see the option to add a Domain Alias (or Hosting Alias) in the control panel.

Is this still an issue with Cluster1, or something I should submit a ticket on?

Thanks!

Aliases can be done, they have to be added in the plans then can be added in the users. So if you are seeing an issue, let us know in ticket.

One more question!

Should I submit a ticket per domain/account or just for my reseller account?

I created a new plan and enabled all the Alias options and then signed up a new account/domain under the new plan - still no Alias options (other than Mail).

I also took an old account and different domain, and switched to the new plan - no alias options.

Finally I edited an existing plan, enabled all the alias options, and tested with a third account - still no ability to add aliases.

So - should I submit a ticket for each domain/account, or just once for my reseller account?

Thanks again!

one master ticket should work since it is all tied together.

I apologize for missing this official thread before and will try and keep issues related to the upgrade within this one from now on. Some of this has been duplicated in other areas of the forums as well as support tickets though at this point. I hope by stating it here it will allow for an easier method to track progress against the problems as well as to allow others to see if they may be experiencing the same.

I have a ticket in CHV-32702-898 regarding AWStatats not working properly on at least 13 domains/accounts. In most cases there is no data tabulated for March at all (7) in other cases (6) the data is understated probably by an average of 10x these accounts are on different servers but all are Windows.

Here's another Alias issue that just happened.

I needed to change an existing account from a shared to dedicated IP address for SSL purposes. The account itself already had the Alias in it of:

www.psychsense.com

which worked fine.

After changing it to a dedicated IP address

www.psychsense.com still shows as a server alias but the site cannot be accessed with it.

http://psychsense.com/ renders
http://204.10.105.10/ renders
http://www.psychsense.com/ does not render

I will also put in a ticket for this to support. I am assuming there can be a quick fix for this to somehow force the alias to render?

That is a dns cache issue, I am betting if you ping with and without the www you will have different results given by your ISP dns cache :)

you can also try open a command prompt and typing: ipconfig /flushdns to see if it your local pc DNS cache.

And right you are Stephen!

ok on the stats am curious if you compare AWStats to raw log analysis if there is a large difference. Thre are a couple other people complaining about less hits on stats, but in my testing it seems all logs are being recorded.

I'd recommend downloading the logs and doing a local analysis, I like Funnel Web Analyzer.

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for the link for Funnel Web Analyzer..very nice!

OK let me try and explain what I see and what is different.

A few days ago I picked 3 domains that were not working correctly with AWStatas. 2 of those domains had understated Stats in them and one showed none.

I turned AWStats off and then on again thinking that might clear the problem.

The next day I looked and there appeared to be no change. Now that I look agin there is a slight change.

The two domains that showed some stats in them now appear to be tabulating correctly starting with March 9th data. There was no correction to data that showed earlier than that since the time of the H-Sphere upgrade.

The domain that showed no statistics for March at all still shows no data.

Here is what looks different based on the logs going through File Manager.

For the two domains that now seem to be working there are is a daily series of logs. todays log has a size to it (which I would expect) The logs dated the 9th through the 11th show as 0 kb in size (which I am assuming is due to being written into AWStats log correctly now during nightly processing.)

The domain I started and stopped AWStats on that showed no data along with another domain that I didn't do that to that also shows no data in AWStats have a different pattern in the logs. All of the daily logs have a size to them (none that are 0) I can download and look at those individual logs through Funnel. They seem to all make sense as to the activity that they show. But the AWStats interface still shows nothing for the entire month.

I dont know if anyone from support (or yourself) has performed any actions that might have changed anything yet at this point.

I am thinking about trying to turn AWStats off and then on again on all of the domains (10 more I believe) to try again and see if that clears anything. The only downside I am aware of (if it works at all) is that it seems any data that would show through the Interface might be lost for any prior days.

Do you think it would be wise to try that? Or have any other thoughts?

Thanks Stephen!

Joe,

Any of these sites having 0kb logs on win16 or win2? I know of something on them that may keep log at 0kb that I need to check into. (This only applies to select domains, not entire domains on a server, so anyone else reading this please do not misinterpret it. there was a logging issue for some users that was making a blank page, and the work around then was to move to w3 standard logging instead of the hpshere logging, it only happened on some domains not on all)

Hi Stephen,

Those two domains that have o in the logs dated 3/9 3/10 and 3/11 are on Win 15 and Win 19

The strange thing about that is those 3 dates on both domains are the only dates that have AWStats updated to show all stats for those same dates.

Stephen,

I should have mentioned that those 2 with 0 are the only ones I know about..other domains on other servers I haven't checked into all of those logs yet.
